Kinnear Financial community
investment program provides funding for community
partners in the areas of education, health, leadership
development, significant community needs, youth and
sports. We provide meaningful support to organizations
that develop life-long skills, including character
development, leadership training and mentoring of the
attitudes and values of sportsmanship, honesty, fair
play and hard work.

that Kinnear Financial is involved with:

The Banff Centre and the
Kinnear Centre for Innovation and Creativity
As a globally respected arts, cultural, educational
and leadership development facility, The Banff Centre
provides training, education and skills and leadership
development to artists and mid- to senior level leaders
and decision-makers in their fields. In 2007, Kinnear
Financial founder James S. Kinnear and the Friends of
Jim Kinnear announced a $10 million contribution to
build this new, state-of-the-art leadership development
and educational facility.

The Duke of
Edinburgh's Award
In 2005 Kinnear Financial founder James S. Kinnear
became a founding partner of The Duke of Edinburgh’s
Award Charter for business assisting them to expand
their efforts with at risk youth in Alberta and across
Canada. In June of 2009 at the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold
Award Ceremony, Jim took the award program to the next
level. During the ceremony it was announced Jim had made
the largest single donation in the history of the
program in Canada, by pledging $2.5 million and becoming
the first National Benefactor.
